My take on CAA 2019 and Citizenship Act, 1955, as amended is entirely apolitical. In the book, I did not judge the good, bad and ugly of it. I just tried to know the statement of the law and shared it through the book. But sometimes I could not help but make fun of those statements of the law.
The most ludicrous one in Section 6A, popularly known as Assam Accord.
It denies citizenship to certain people and prohibits them from taking part in general elections as voters and candidates. At the same time section 6A allows those people to carry an Indian passport while going abroad.
Those people are foreigners in India. But they are Indian citizens in foreign countries including the countries of their respective origins. 🤣
